U13 VI
The U13 boys have been a very committed team this year , attending training and games each week . A short season has meant that we have not played the amount of tennis we would have liked ; however , they have made up for this in their training sessions .
The first game of the season was a fantastic win against Worksop ( 6-3 ) – this made the boys determined , they set their standards high for the rest of the season , and they have not disappointed ! They then played Hymers , a rival against whom they wanted to win , and they did … A tremendous 8-1 victory on Hymers home ground . The next game was against Scarborough College ; the boys decided this would be a hard game and they would work specifically on their serves , and try to win points from making their opposition move ( a great teamwork strategy ). This worked perfectly , as the outcome was another win ( 6-3 )!
The boys then had two hard games , against St . Peter ’ s and Bradford , which they marginally lost 4-5 . However , they did not let this faze them : the final game was a mixed game against Hymers in the AEGON cup , and the boys and girls wanted to win ! And win they did – a fantastic 5-1 win for their last game of the season . Well done to all involved in the matches and those who showed an outstanding commitment to training .

Despite the score line , the entire squad is to be congratulated for their positivity and enthusiasm throughout the season . It has been a pleasure working alongside them .
