U13C VII P4 / W2 / D0 / L2 The girls have had a great season and played really hard, often against very strong opposition. The highlight of the season was the tournament at St Olave’s where the girls were placed 4th after playing several back to back matches showing real grit and determination. U13D VII P3 / W2 / D0 / L1 The U13 D team have really fought hard in their 3 matches this season and it has been a pleasure to see them play with such determination. Izzy Rowley has U12A VII P7 / W5 / D0 / L2 This has been a great season for the U12A team. The versatility within the team has seen people playing in many different positions, and playing these well. Our defence has been solid, with 64 THE POCKLINGTONIAN Particularly impressive has been Lucy Donaldson in defence who has played for the B and C team and she is really developing her on court game; moving around the court and marking effectively. It has been lovely to see the shooters in action; Hattie Hawkes, Ruby Donohue-Day and Alma Cerdan have all been reliable in the attacking D. Also impressive mid-court have been Charlotte Falkingham and Ciara Quinn whose commitment and determination have been really important to the team. Overall, a great season girls: well done! Players’ Player: Lucy Donaldson Most Improved Player: Alma Cerdan been hugely impressive with her drive and focus and she has been a real asset to the team. Katrina Laing has worked hard this season as has Rose Newbould who has played with real commitment. Poppy Ducker, Emma Lamb and Martha Lee have also played well and the girls have shown real teamwork in all their matches. Maddie Cox, Carys Haeney and Ella Smith showing their determination to get the ball. Ellie Quick, Erin Fox, Sophie Brosenitz and Niamh Clements worked the ball up through centre court, with some wonderful feeds into the D. Islay Cunliffe-Lister, Jess Groombridge and Ella Smith all moved within the D beautifully and shot well. Sophie Brosenitz was a brilliant captain, leading her team and supporting in whichever position she was needed. Well done girls! Players’ Player: Rose Newbould Most Improved Player: Izzy Rowley A great first year and I look forward to continuing with a great season next year.
