GASTRONOMIC USE
Thyme has a strong piquant or
lemony flavor. For fresh use, the
flavor is best just before flowering.
Add thyme to soups, stews,
marinades, tortillas or scrambled
eggs. You can also add whole twigs
to the casseroles for flavor
(remember to remove them before
serving).
MEDICINAL USE
For medicinal purposes the leaves
and flowers of thyme are used. We
can prepare them in a tea or also use
thyme essential oil.
Thyme
has
very
interesting
components among which we
highlight the essential oil with
phenols such as thymol and
carvacrol, flavonoids and terpenoids.
