A PESTLE analysis was also applied to the event
which identified technological, legal and ethical
issues. These included; the potential for
technological integration into the escape games,
the need for an age restricted event and ensuring
attendees could be ‘freed’ as any point during the
games.
Further issues included additional costs for setting
up the event. Painting was required, however, as
this would take time to do and dry before other
set-up could commence, the venue agreed to
additional time in the space free of charge in
order to complete this task.
Operation schedules were designed in order to
properly assess the total time needed for set-
up/clear-up. Additional time was added as a
contingency as often suggested in event
management - this was later needed at set-up
took a little longer than anticipated due to delays
and errors by the escape game supplier (Allen,
2013).
Analysis of the venue identified issues that needed
to be resolved including; temperature and layout.
Attendees were provided with detailed information
regarding directions, temperature warnings and
general timings before the event to ensure the
event ran as smoothly as possible (Dowson, &
Bassett, 2015). As the toilets were located in a
different part of the building, signs were installed
and staff were always available to ensure no
attendees got lost.
