You are invited to join us as we celebrate all the men in our facility with ice cream topped with hot fudge, caramel, or strawberry syrup and whipped cream and a cherry at 12:00 P.M. in the dining room. BANANA SPLIT DAY Wilmington, Ohio, hosts its annual Banana Split Festival June 7th and 8th, complete with a banana split eating contest. It is a festival celebrating Wilmington as the birthplace of the banana split. In 1907, restaurant owner Ernest Hazard wanted to attract students from Wilmington College during the slow days of winter. He staged an employee contest to come up with a new ice cream dish. When none of his workers were up to the task, he split a banana lengthwise, threw it into an elongated dish, and created his own dessert. The Orchards of East Liverpool will celebrate by making our own banana splits during our culinary group. Join us at 2:00 P.M. in the dining room as we serve up banana splits made to your specifications. WELCOME NEW RESIDENTS Please welcome our new residents when you see them across campus!
