The Association is grieving the loss of our friend and neighbor
Patricia, Pat, Figueroa, who died on June 24. Pat is survived by her
husband, John, their two sons; and three grandchildren.
Pat and John moved to Mountain View in 1968—long-time residents
by any standards, yet surprisingly “recent” because Pat was one of
those people who seemed to have even deeper roots in our city, as
if she had been born and raised here. A more dedicated community
leader would be hard to imagine. Pat not only loved her community,
she helped to build it. Serving on numerous local and regional
committees, including two terms as Mountain View’s mayor, Pat
worked to make Mountain View a better place to live.
A celebration of Pat’s life will be held at the Mountain View Center
for the Performing Arts on Sunday, August 7 at 3:00 p.m.
Although you might have noted that the Association had originally
planned to hold our annual summer meeting on the above date,
needless to say, we will reschedule our event for later in the month.
We hope you will be able to join us on Sunday, August 28 for our
traditional summer BBQ at the Adobe. As always, we appreciate an
opportunity to come together, to share memories, and to celebrate
everything Mountain View.
