President’s Message By Candace Bowers MVHA President Dear Members: It was great to see all of you who turned out for our annual summer BBQ, featuring the famous Linda’s Parisian burger. This year we did something different and had Gold Rush Eatery, based at Sunken Gardens golf course, bring their food truck and serve their version of the Parisian burger. We understand that some of you had to juggle both the BBQ and the Old Mountain View Neighborhood Association ice cream social on the same day; we’ll be sure not to overlap each other next time. We are also repeating our Dia de los Muertos this year. Our Board worked hard to put together this event last year, in celebration of our city’s Mexican-American heritage. I think we broke our record for attendance at the Adobe building. We saw a lot of new faces, especially young folks. Be ready to dance to the wonderful mariachi band. Another new tradition will be our Dia de los Muertos altar in the Mountain View History Center. Here we will display photos of our beloved ancestors and Mountain View pioneers. We welcome your contributions of your own family photos to honor their memories. You may drop off photos at the Library any time before November 1. See you at the Adobe— Candace 2
