We also know that when problems are unfamiliar, they can be quite expensive when finding someone who knows how to resolve the issues. Patient Simulators Are fully automatic patient simulator specifically designed for training in anesthesia, respiratory and critical care. Patient simulators are a new technology that is not currently made familiar to any level of technician in a clinical or training site aside from basic operations and simple maintenance. What I have found over my experiences at the Simulation Center is that BMETs fall in a very good position to service these devices just like any other medical device. The tools we need are already in our training and it only takes some exposure and hands on practice to make learning these systems and invaluable asset to our skills. These simulators can run up to over 60 thousand dollars and warranties do cover them for a period of time, but warranties can expire long before the simulators are ready to. Keeping medical devices safely functioning and productive is how the BMET helps the clinicians to save lives. Caring for the patient simulator, the tool that is used to produce the future health care professionals can easily become the responsibility of the BMET technician.
