The following six actions items support a management style that encourages transformational leadership :

Transformational leaders set a high standard of excellence and high-quality work and clearly communicate all expectations to employees . They promote employee and patient safety and satisfaction by responding to any questions , comments , or concerns . In preparation of implementing new expectations , strong leaders consider the varying personality types , communication styles , and diverse cultural backgrounds of all employees . Clear communication can lead to increased employee retention and improved patient satisfaction scores , ultimately impacting financial reimbursement .
Use healthcare informatics wisely
Healthcare informatics may be used to track team progress , measure patient outcomes , or provide a means of communication .
Foster a spirit of inquiry
Transformational leaders encourage employees to ask critical questions when exploring the tension between innovation and evidence-based practice .
