Convertino – dall ’ unico campo da golf della zona . E poi vicino c ’ è uno dei resort più lussuosi del mondo , un luogo che ha incantato star internazionali come Madonna e Sting . Questo ha fatto un po ’ da volano per tutta quanta la zona , rendendola particolarmente ambita dai turisti ”. Non bastasse , proprio la Valle d ’ Itria ospiterà il G7 a metà giugno 2024 , ed è inevitabile che ciò contribuisca a puntare ulteriormente i riflettori su questo incantevole angolo d ’ Italia . “ Il mercato immobiliare – spiega ancora Convertino , che proprio di questo si occupa – ha assunto proporzioni che vent ’ anni fa erano inimmaginabili . C ’ è stata una clamorosa rivalutazione che passa anche attraverso il recupero di un patrimonio diffuso fatto di antiche masserie , casolari di campagna , fabbricati agricoli ”. Tutto questo – si intuisce – riguarda un ’ attenzione che va ben oltre i confini nazionali : “ Ci sono anche italiani – precisa il nostro ospite – per lo più imprenditori del nord , che magari poi decidono di investire qui in Puglia . Però non c ’ è dubbio che gli stranieri sono la netta maggioranza : parliamo proprio dell ’ ottanta per cento ”. La zona dunque fa da catalizzatore per una piccola comunità internazionale .
Un sapore tira l ’ altro Non stupisce perciò , al netto delle bellezze cui abbiamo accennato , che anche i sapori facciano da calamita . “ L ’ esperienza di una degustazione di olio è un ’ immersione nei sapori di questa terra . Possiamo offrirla qui in villa , ma è interessante farla proseguire con una visita di qualcuno dei frantoi dei dintorni . Qui nella zona , poi , si producono anche formaggi , quindi tra i nostri ospiti c ’ è chi va a visitare anche qualche caseificio ”. Un piccolo viaggio nel viaggio , da cui tornare con un bottino prezioso per l ’ aperitivo in giardino . Un sapore tira l ’ altro , dunque , ed è difficile trattenersi dal chiedere quali altri gusti accompagnino degustazioni e soggiorni . Solo così si scoprirà , per esempio , l ’ esistenza del “ barattiere ”, prodotto talmente tipico di queste terre che

but which range from the beauty of the sea to the extensive golf course .” Yes , because not far away the olive groves give way to the greens : “ Another big boost came from the fact that we are two fields away [ Convertino uses this very unit of measurement ] from the only golf course in the area . And nearby is one of the most luxurious resorts in the world , a place that has enchanted international stars such as Madonna and Sting . This has acted as a bit of a stimulus for the whole area , making it particularly popular with tourists .” As if that were not enough , the Itria Valley will host the G7 in June 2024 , and it is inevitable that this will further shine the spotlight on this enchanting corner of Italy . “ The real estate market ,” explains Convertino , who deals specifically with this metier , “ has grown on a scale that was unimaginable twenty years ago . There has been a spectacular reappraisal that also involves the recovery of an extensive heritage made up of ancient farmhouses , country cottages and farm buildings .” I think we can guess that all this involves a level of attention that goes far beyond national borders : “ There are also Italians ,” our host points out , “ mostly entrepreneurs from the north , who perhaps then decide to invest here in Apulia . But there is no doubt that foreigners are the clear majority : we ’ re talking about 80 %.” The area therefore acts as a catalyst for a small international community .
One flavour leads to another It is therefore not surprising that , alongside the many assets we have already mentioned , flavours also act as a magnet . “ The experience of an olive oil tasting is an immersion in the flavours of this land . We can offer it here in the villa , but it ’ s interesting to follow it up with a visit to one of the nearby oil mills . Cheeses are also produced locally , so some of our guests take the opportunity to visit some of the producers .” A small journey within a journey , returning with precious booty
