Apart from the philosophical meaning of art, which is more intriguing, indeed more exhilarating, is its human value, if we consider it what it actually is, that is to say creative activity, peculiar to man, denied to any other species. Poetry and the arts in general are the creation of something that did not exist before, produce creatures, perform important functions, on a par with, if not more than, natural procreation; it is impossible to imagine a world in which the arts are totally absent. The creation also recalls the concept of construction and implementation of what is needed for its realization. The artists make use of the necessary tools and methods, the painter's colors, the sculptor's marble, the musician's sounds. Poetic art builds, using only words, considered both in their meaning, that defined by the dictionary, and in their significant value, or the word considered in itself, distinct from its meaning and made up of sounds and dimensions. It is significant that the means, sounds and words, are common to different arts such as poetry and music. . Fundamental in poetry is the connection between the sonority of the verse and the contents of the text, as well as the logical continuity between the various stanzas, as long as it is intuitive and not explicitly stated.
