“I’m just confused Leo, why change your mind?” he asked me. I knelt down to him and place my hand on his shoulder
“Mi amigo, even I dunno, if I knew the reason why, I would’ve told all of you as soon as possible.”
It’s now Friday and I’m still unsure of what to say. I did my morning routine of getting ready for school. As I opened the door I was greeted by a snowball to the face, there must be a snowball fight in my neighborhood. Did I miss something? I headed back inside, turned on the TV, and tuned into the weather channel. There it shows the state weatherman, Mr Davis telling that an abrupt snowfall has covered the town. There was a list on the screen showing the schools closed:
BlightShade, no snow
Emberlight, little to no snow
The list goes on…
Phoenix, 1-3 inches
Quasar, 2-4 inches
Riverstone, 4-6 inches
Oh, there’s my town, it seems like schools are closed until the town finds a way to clear the roads. I guess I should check the weather more often since it affects the school we go to. I threw my bag to the couch and called my mom saying that school’s closed. She too was surprised, she was a little concerned on how I’ll be okay being home alone, but I assured her that I’ll be fine. I decided to have fun with the sudden snow day and grabbed my sled from my bedroom closet. I put on my face mask I use on weekends above my scarf and ran out as fast as I could.
I walked out the front door, locking it behind me, and ran through the snowball field, using my sled as a shield from the ongoing fight. I headed over to the local park where other kids are having snowball fights and sledding down the hill. A toddler who’s making a bandit themed snowman waved at me, I waved back at him, they can’t see me smile though. I headed over to the hill and distanced myself far enough so I could get the most momentum sliding down. I looked both ways, then ran as fast as I could holding my sled. As soon as I couldn't see the ground, I jumped on my sled and went down. All I see are blurs as I sped down the hill. I cheer in excitement as I pick up more speed. The bottom of the hill is approaching rapidly so I braced myself for impact. But it wasn’t smooth ground I soon felt; someone made a ramp out of snow. I was too late to realize and so I went up the ramp flying.
