I pointed to the supply closet across the hallway from us. “Oh I’m sorry, but that’s been closed for … reasons. You can use the one near the 1st and 2nd grader’s room.” she points to her left, and I see the room for the young elementary schoolers. The door next to it has the “SUPPLY CLOSET” label on it.
“Gracias.” I said. I headed to the other supply closet. I learned that all supply closets use the same key so it made things a bit easier for me. I had the key in my back pocket. I opened the closet and found an unused roll of masking tape. The roll is pretty big so I think I can finish decorating the hallways. Upon turning around heading to the hallways a small girl was in my way which honestly startled me. She’s almost my height, seems to be 10 years old, her hair is straight with side swept bangs with a bat hair clip and down to her chin. Everything about her looks pale, from her hair color, eyes, and her skin. And she has a black sweater dress with a cobweb pattern on it. She didn’t say anything and just looked at me, slightly tilting her head to the side. She silently handed me another roll of masking tape, this one is recently used as there’s a small tear on the roll. I awkwardly thanked her and went back to the hallways where my friends are still there.
Nate has his hands on his head, he always does that whenever he’s stressed out, the twins are busy comforting him. I see Maya scratching her head, unsure of what to do.
“Hey, do you think you can finish up the decorations? Gotta help out Nate here.” I asked.
“I’m not as tall as you Leo, you should’ve known that since your mom brought you here.” she replied. Oh right, that. Her current height is reaching my chin, so she’s not tall enough to hang the streamers.
“Oh that. Well in that case can you put them there please?” I pointed to the rolling TV stand where the rest of the supplies are at. Maya gave me a sad look on her face, she has a history of others using her to finish their work instead of doing it themselves, so I felt bad for her, so I did it myself instead to cheer her up.
“Changed my mind” I said. She was a little confused but upon realizing, she smiled at me. We both come to Nate, who’s already calmed down, guess the twins managed to make him laugh while me and Maya were having our own dispute. “You okay Nate?” I asked, he nodded. We sighed.
