The book Into The Wild was a very inspiring book. The way Christopher McCandless just leaves and goes off to live by what he thinks is important and right, without telling his family where he’s going and how long he’ll be away was a very brave move on his part.
Everyone always gets that feeling of running away one day without telling a single word about it and just disappear like Chris did. He realized that it was his life and he was going to do whatever he pleased with it. He didn’t want to live the same old boring everyday life of a person where it feels like it just goes on forever, he wanted to live his life not exactly “to the fullest” but he wanted it to be free to where he can make his own decisions. He knew that people did the same things everyday, at the same time, the same way, and sooner or later they just turn into habit and they can’t go a day without doing whatever that is, it bothered him to know that, and he didn't like it. It was a very smart move on his part, and yes, he died, but he died happy and doing what he wanted.
Human Interest Piece
Chris McCandless was a very independent person. He was just like everyone else, but he just wanted to do things a little different. Chris decided to go in the wild to live his life. He didn’t really think through how he was going to survive, he just went ahead with it.
Chris didn’t inform his parents or friends of where he planned on going because they were part of the reason decided to leave. Straight out of college, he donated all of his money, and left. His father, Walt McCandless, always insulted him, calling him mean names, that was pretty much the thing that pushed Chris to leave his whole life behind.
McCandless was living alone when he decide to leave. He did get help to get to his destination but it wasn’t the help of his family. He got a ride from a trucker. The trucker did think that Chris was odd because he told him that he was planning on relying on what nature offers him, with as little supplies as possible. The trucker saw that Chris was something special, so he sent him off with some supplies that Chris would need in order to survive.
