his year’s theme to our New Student Orientation held
on August 30, 2011, was “Be” and it was a huge
success. Numbers attending were higher than ever before.
We ran out of chairs to seat people and packs to give out to
students. Thankfully, we did not run out of food!
The biggest surprise was the number of commuter students
who live off campus, yet still turned out and stayed to participate
in the various activities. This is a testament to the fabulous work
undertaken by last year’s commuter program team of Student
Leaders as well as to Enrolment Services who have obviously
been talking to prospective students about orientation generally
and our commuter provision specifically. No doubt returning
students have also been spreading the word! The hard work
has paid off! ?

climbing, worship, and Cups!

sticks, and four cups. Two bamboo sticks with cups resting on
them are stuck into the ground about half-a-meter apart. Ten
paces away the other two bamboo sticks are set up similarly.

The game is typically played with two, two-person teams. Each
team stands opposite each other behind a set of bamboo sticks.
The teams take turns throwing a frisbee at their opponent’s
bamboo sticks. If a stick is hit and a cup flies off and hits the
ground the throwing team is awarded one point. If the frisbee is
thrown between the two bamboo 7F?6?2v?F??WB??GF??r??F???p?F?RF?&?v??rFV??2v&FVBF?&VR???G2???vWfW"??b7W ??26Vv?Bv?F???R??BgFW"&V??r???6?VB?fbF?R7F?6?F?P?6F6???rFV??2v&FVBGv????G2?F?R#7GVFV?B&WG&VB6?????6??7W2FV?6??6?7FV@??bg&6W"( ?6F6????BWfW'?7W???&V( ?vV?V?2?@?6?&?V?R( ??GF??r&?&??7F?6?2v?F?g&?6&VW2?2??R6???F??p?f?6???&'&V?( ??V?6????*??V6?v?R?2??VBF?R???G2??b??W"FV?W?6VVG2R???P?&RV???VB?Bv?&6?F?v?F????G2?BF?Rv?P?&W7V?W2g&??F?W&R?vF6?F?R7W2f?FV?????RGV&P?F?T???w5T0??F?R???~( ?26???V7F??????f??#???p???
