A CHILD OF GOD
Have you ever stopped to think about how
simple God has made it for us to be a
member of His family? This verse simply
says that once we believe in His name
and receive Him that it is our right to be
called children of God. That is a right
that no one can take from us. The traits
of parents are usually followed by their
children. In our relationship with God as
our Heavenly Father, this should be no
different. God is Holy! He is kind and
compassionate
and
loves
us
unconditionally. He loves us so much that
He deemed us worth it to send His Son,
Jesus to suffer and die so that we might
have life. This love is no ordinary love but
it is the love of God which surpasses
anything that we can ever imagine. As
children of God, we are charged to love
each other “as Christ has loved us (John
13:34)”. This means that we must love
everyone we interact with, not for any
good deeds that they may do for us but
simply because it is one of the most
marvelous traits of God that His children
must follow. Our spiritual mirror (The
Word of God) shows that we are not just
ordinary people, but we stand in a higher
position. We are children of the King of
all kings.
MORE THAN A CONQUEROR AND AN
OVERCOMER
This means that your battles have already
been won. Furthermore, not only are you
a conqueror in your trials, but you are a
conqueror in your finances, you are a
conqueror in your studies, at home and
wherever you set your feet. You are more
than victorious because of Him who lives
in you. There are times when situations
seem to grow bigger by the minute and it
is easy to become discouraged. In these
times, remember that as long as God
fights your battles for you, there is no
opportunity for defeat. There is nothing
bigger than you when God stands beside
you and overcoming obstacles is already
in your nature.
LOVED
Not only does God love us, but the
magnitude of His love is so great that
there is nothing within the earth nor
beneath it that can separate us from it.
This love is so great that it gave us the
second chance at life: the chance to
become “friends of God” as opposed to
being His enemies.
FORGIVEN
On the confession of sins, we are
forgiven. Not by any good thing we have
done to deserve it but simply because He
loves us and His blood was shed to give
us the opportunity to be forgiven. The
beauty of this arrangement is that in
order to be forgiven, all we must do is to
confess our sins to God and ask for His
forgiveness. He wants us to come to Him.
He welcomes our confessions, because
He wants us to live with Him eternally.
His heart is gladdened at the thought of
the repentance of our sins. He does not
