improvement of energy utilization
efficiency in Malaysian buildings,
promoting energy conserving
designs in new buildings.

Residences are 20’x65’ double
storey terrace homes with builtup sizes ranging from 1,840 sq
ft to 2,215 sq ft. The houses
were launched priced under
the RM400,000 price tag, and
feature generous built up areas
of approximately 1,800-2,200
sq ft. KEN Rimba Jimbaran
Residences are 24’x65’ double
storey terrace homes complete
with a loft, with a built-up area
from 2,322 sq ft selling at
RM635,000 during our launch in
mid-2013.
The design and fit out
of the homes had also to be
energy efficient, maximizing the
use of natural lighting and cross
ventilation. The project was
innovative in the home design
by incorporating aesthetically
pleasing and fully functional
features into the homes, for
example; low window to wall
ratios for natural lighting,
transparent roof tiles to optimise
natural daylight into habitable
areas which are traditionally
ignored, Australian louvered
windows for constant, controlled
wind flow, slated roofs to allow
heat to escape and an indoor
garden amongst a host of other
green features.
Figure 4: The inclusion of high quality Australian louvered windows allow controlled constant ventilation
into the homes.
