The Logies Black Diamonds
The most memorable Australian made movie specifically starring Aboriginal actors is the all-time classic 'Marbuk and Jedda' movie which was directed by Charles Chauvel.
This ground breaking Australian movie was filmed in some of the most rugged and naturally spectacular remote regions of the Northern Territory. Robert Tudawali and Ngarla Kunoth, both Northern Territory born and bred, starred in the main leading roles.
'Marbuk and Jedda' had its 'world' premiere on the 3rd January at the Star Theatre in Darwin in 1953.
