for our mob of TV viewing audiences.

We watched with great excitement as our crew of current and previous Logie winners gracefully walked the red carpet while impeccably dressed in their own style of evening wear.

Four Australian states had indigenous nominee representation at the Logies.

Those actors in contention were Queensland's Deborah Mailman, Northern Territory acting and singing duo Rob Collins and Jessica Mauboy plus New South Wales youngster Hunter Page-Lochard who all represented the First Australians.

The entire cast of ABC TV/Network 10's science-fiction drama series 'Cleverman' which included Adam Briggs, Rob Collins, Ryan Griffen, Rarriwuy Hick and and Hunter Page-Lochard made national history as being the first all-Aboriginal acting crew to ever become nominated.

Captivating Aboriginal actor Rob Collins who is one of the outstanding stars of the much acclaimed 'Cleverman' series literally 'stole the show' with his magnetic charm.

This incredibly talented young man scooped the Logie Award for 'Best New Talent'.

His unbridled cultural passion shone brilliantly when he acknowledged his Northern Territory and Tiwi Islands family connections in his traditional native lingo. Not only did he break common ground with his non-English 'thank you' he also channelled his overflowing Aboriginal pride across the nation.

Collins journey to where he is currently at is no mean feat. He dared to challenge. His attempt to breakthrough into the Actors league surely must have been frustrating however he persisted and for his steadfast commitment he has now been rewarded.

Collins had previously studied at the highly-acclaimed NIDA (National Institute of Dramatic Arts) training institute in Sydney during 2011-13.

He made his professional on-stage debut in 2013 as the character 'Mufusa' in the Australian stage production of 'Lion King'. That was his initial beginning for better things to come.

In 2016, he played the role of 'Lysander' to perfection in the Sydney Theatre Company's production of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'.

Due to his somewhat increasing recognition as an aspiring actor he then obtained a major role in ABC tv's science-fiction drama series 'Cleverman'.

He later gained a starring role in Channel 10's popular drama series 'The Wrong Girl'.
