Now that the kids are back in
school, remember to use caution at all
school crossings, as kids are making
their way to school. Slow down at all
school zones, speed limits are posted.
We wish all our school kids a great
school year.
With things greening up, and growing again after a long dry spell, remember to keep your weeds trimmed, and
grass mowed around your property, and
also a reminder to residents not to mow
their grass into the streets. It makes
the curbs and streets look bad, plus
when it rains, it can plug up the storm
sewer drains causing more problems.
There is no burning in town per a
town ordinance, only small campfires
are allowed. The town has their own
burn ordinance, separate from the
county. Even though the county lifted
their burn ban, the town still only al-

At the August 13 board meeting,
the town council awarded Crossroads
RV tax abatement on a new 22,000
square foot office complex to be built
along West Lake Street on the Crossroad campus. Also, that night, Crossroads agreed to have the last part of
their land annexed into the city limits.
This has been a great opportunity for
the Town of Topeka and Crossroads RV.
With the Labor Day weekend coming up, trash pick-up for Topeka will be
