The Topeka Library, along with Four County Area Vocational Cooperative, is providing free GED preparation classes. The classes are open to anyone seventeen years and older. Classes meet on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9 am to 1 pm at the Topeka Library. The actual GED test will be given at Topeka Elementary in September, November, February and April. During the first class, a student will be evaluated in reading, math and language to determine a starting point for study and how long it may take to prepare for the test. The classes are free and the only thing a student will need to bring is paper and a pencil. Classes are self-paced and include individual instruction. Interested students may begin classes at any time. A graduation ceremony is held twice a year for the graduates who wish to participate. There are also classes offered in Ligonier and LaGrange. For more information or a schedule of the different class locations and meeting times you may call the Four County Vocational office at 260-349-0250.
