Senior Spotlight
Michelle Mowery
Michelle Mowery is as nice and
polite as a little kid trying to get their
parents to buy them a new toy. However, she’s as nice and polite as that
every single day. Michelle has also
been involved in about everything you
can be in during high school. She has
been involved in her church’s youth
group, school musicals, NHS, PLUS,
Spanish Club, and the Dynamic Singsations. She has also played on the soccer
and basketball teams for four years.
She will also be playing in her fourth
softball season this spring as well. As
if all of that isn’t impressive enough,
she is in the forefront of becoming the
class of 2013 valedictorian.
All of her years on the fields at
Westview have been because of her
dedication and her enjoyment of
sports. “I enjoy the good, clean competition, and getting to work together
with my teammates and friends.”
She has especially enjoyed playing for Westview. “I think Westview is
known for its good athletes but more
importantly its sportsmanship off the
courts and fields. It has been special to
be able to work with teammates who
are always respectful.”
She also has been helped by her
coaches along the way. “My coaches
have encouraged me and challenged me
to get better. They have also taught me
important life lessons which has made
me a better person, not just a better
athlete,” said Mowery.
Her favorite high school memory
was scoring with five seconds left
against Elkhart Christian to win the
soccer game this past year.

ments as well, Mowery has enjoyed
school. “One of my favorite classes was
Anatomy because it was interesting
and we got to do lots of dissecting. I
have also enjoyed D.S. all four years
because I love music.” Her two favorite
teachers have been Mr. Glassman and
Mrs. Cowley.
As for the future, she plans on attending Indiana Wesleyan and major in
the nursing field. Her lasting advice for
underclassman is to, “Do what you love
and do it with all of your heart.”
Under intense pressure, Madison Myers looks for
an open teammate to help her out in the game
against West Noble on Thurs., Feb. 14, 2013.
