2017 is gearing up to be an incredible year for the Illinois Junior Golf Association . The theme for this offseason was simplification . We did our best to simplify our programs and events here at the IJGA . The Playing Member Division ’ s single-day events will no longer be categorized as Regionals , Sectionals and Opens . In effort to simplify the program , all single-day events will be titled Playing Member Stroke Play Events . All Player of the Year points will be weighted based off the field size for each single day event . In addition to that , range balls will be included with the player ’ s entry fee at all courses that have driving ranges .

One of my favorite parts of my job is watching players evolve throughout the IJGA season . It ’ s incredible to see player ’ s average scores drop so drastically throughout the summer . Playing in competitive tournaments in the summer is the best way to prepare yourself for the upcoming High School golf season . I look forward to seeing you all at events and watching your golf games evolve over the summer .
