TRAIN, from?Page 1 transportation, especially for those that are looking to save a few dollars due to the high cost of fuel in recent years and also because it is easier than commuting to the city and having to wait in the potential hectic traffic patterns. Four regional workers spoke to The Gazette about why they take the train to work each day, and how long they have been doing it. The popular answers were that it saves money and transit provides good service. Jim McNally is a Mullica Township resident. McNally works in Haddonfield, and takes the Hammonton train Monday-Friday to and from his engineering company on Kings Highway, and sometimes weekends. He has been utilizing the transit service for 10 years, and will take the train home during varying hours in the evening. “It varies. I will usually take anywhere from the 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. hour train back to Hammonton,” McNally said. McNally’s reason for taking the train to work is that it will save him money, and to eliminate the potential wear and tear on his vehicle. The transit’s good service is another major factor. “The big factor for me is the wear and tear on my vehicle if I drove to work. If the transit services keep up what they are doing right now, and get me to work on time every day, then sure I am going to continue to take the train. It has allowed me to continue to feel comfortable taking it every day,” he said. Hammonton resident Diana Seifritz is interning with Wolters Kluwer Law & Business on 21st and Market Street in Philadelphia. Seifritz takes the train for the convenience factor, and she lives right near the station in Hammonton. “This is my second week doing this. I just started an internship with them. I always get the 4:47 p.m. train home and I get to miss all the other commuters that come home during the 5:00 p.m. hour,” Seifritz said. Seifritz has been pleased with the transit service so far and says that it usually is on time, give or take a few minutes. “It is pretty much on time, maybe a few minutes late. I will be doing this throughout the summer and right before I go back to school,” she said.

Dane Wuillermin is a Hammonton resident and has a job with Eddlestein Law, LLP. in the Philadelphia area on South Broad Street. Wuillermin just recently started to use the town’s transit service and loves what it provides. “It is great. It is good for anybody who loves to travel. I love to take planes and the one thing with the 30th Street station is that it is a nice hub for activity. You can get something to eat and it is almost like going to a mall. It is really cool,” Wuillermin said. Wuillermin takes the 5:48 p.m. train back to Hammonton. He gets done work at 5:00 p.m., and says the whole system really works for him. “It really works out for me.
