the years have been very rewarding to her. “The interaction, the collaboration, the problem solving and working with the people on our focus is what I will miss the most about working in this school district. That is very rewarding,” Holloway said. As Holloway departs the school system, her position of assistant superintendent needs to be filled. The role will be assumed by Robin Chieco, who has been the district supervisor of math and science. “We do have a person [Robin Chieco] that is going to approve for the position [assistant superintendent] at the next board meeting. I have been working with her. Robin Chieco is our district supervisor of math and science right now. That is the plan,” Holloway said. Holloway is very thankful to have worked in the Hammonton school district during her 25-year career. She credits the district for allowing her to pursue her passion of teaching students, and giving them a proper avenue to learn. “I do want to say that it has been a wonderful place to work. I am really thankful for the experience that I have had here. The district has truly allowed me to just grow and pursue my passion, which is student learning,” Holloway said. On August 29 at Illiano’s Ristorante Italiano, members of the school district’s administration and select staff attended a luncheon in Holloway’s honor. After having buffet style lunch provided by Illiano’s, key members of the district spoke about Holloway’s career, along with her contributions to the education system and what they will miss about her.

The sapphire was said to represent the purity of the soul. European medieval kings of Europe valued these stones for rings and brooches, believing that it protected them from jealousy and violence. The people of France in the 1200s believed that sapphire transformed “stupidity to wisdom and irritability to good temper.” The Imperial State Crown, worn by Queen Victoria in 1838, is home to one of the most famous sapphires in the world. The public can see the crown at the Tower of London. This stone is referred to as the St. Edward’s Sapphire because it once belonged to Edward the Confessor.
