ObITUARIES

David Andrew Freeman

David Andrew Freeman , 37 , of Williamstown , died on Monday , June 27 , 2016 in Inspira Hospital .

Born in Marlton , he was a lifelong area resident . He formerly was employed at the Dollar Tree in Hammonton .

He was predeceased by his father , Ronald E . Freeman . David is survived by his mother , Vivian Freeman ( nee Egizi ); his three sisters , Maria Paine ( Harold ), Ryan E . Finn ( Christopher ) and Shannon Freeman all of Williamstown ; his nieces , Miranda Paine , Leah Paine ; his nephew , Jacob Paine ; his soulmate , Kristen Kelly ; his “ little buddy ,” Tristen Abbott , and his aunts , uncles , cousins and friends .

Memorial Services were held on Tuesday , July 5 , 2016 , at the

Hammonton Presbyterian Church , 326 Bellevue Ave ., Hammonton . In lieu of flowers , Memorial Donations may be made to the family . Arrangements made by the Carnesale Funeral Home , Hammonton .

Gladys F . Radzwillowicz

Gladys F . Radzwillowicz ( nee Rybaczewski ), 98 , of Hammonton , died on June 29 , 2016 , at Hammonton Center .

Born in Duryea , Pa ., she lived in Scranton , Pa ., until her retirement in 1979 . She owned and operated her own beauty shop in Scranton for 32 years . Upon her retirement , she moved to Hammonton to be closer to her daughter and family . A caring and giving mother and person , she was always willing to lend a helping hand . During her retirement , she kept busy by working as a waitress , library aide and receptionist .

Gladys is predeceased by her husband , Stanley Radzwillowicz ; her parents , Frances and Adam Rybaczewski ; her brothers , Frank and Theodore Rybaczewski , and her sister , Sophia Merola . She is survived by her daughter , Andrea Ruberton and her husband , Bob ; her son , Ted Radzwillowicz and his wife , Loretta ; grandsons , Rob and his wife , Katherine Ruberton , Ted and his wife , Dina Radzwillowicz , Paul and his wife , Susan Radzwillowicz , and three great-grandchildren , William Ruberton , James Ruberton and Zofia Radzwillowicz .

A visitation will be held at St . Mary of Mt . Carmel Parish – St . Joseph Church , Third and French streets , Hammonton , NJ , from 9:30 a . m . to 11 a . m . on Wednesday , July 6 , followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a . m . She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Sacred Hearts Cemetery in Scranton , Pa .

Donations in her memory may be made to the Hammonton Cancer Foundation , PO Box 1066 , Hammonton , NJ 08037 .

David Allen Curcio

David “ Davey ” Allen Curcio , 60 , died due to complications from kidney failure on June 20 , 2016 , at his home in Triangle , Va .

Born on Saturday , July 2 , 1955 , at 9:37 a . m ., David was raised by his mother , Viola , and father , Nunzio , on a small family farmstead in Hammonton . David graduated Hammonton High School in 1973 and transitioned into college life at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh , Pa . Four years later , he survived Duquesne ’ s vibrant campus life to graduate with a B . A . in History with a minor in Psychology . David , however , wasn ’ t satisfied with a mere college degree , so Eddie helped him pack up his red Chevy Monza , and they headed west to California . David began law school at the University of La Verne College of Law in Ontario , Ca . He utilized the winter break to get hitched - he married Debbie in January of 1978 , and the happy couple returned to California to live the beach-bum life in a rented pool house - much like all the Beach Boys tunes he loved . However , after that first year , David was accepted to the University of Dayton School of Law . The Monza got packed again , and David and his new bride headed back east to Dayton , Ohio . Juris Doctor followed in 1982 . After much debate , he and his family returned to New Jersey where David passed the bar in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania . He was hired by Lippmann , Antonelli , Batt and Dunlap in Vineland , before striking out on his own in 1984 . David practiced family law and personal injury while also exemplifying his sense of civic duty defending children ’ s rights as a Guardian ad Litem and defending adult ’ s rights as a Public Defender . Around 1984 , David put down roots for his family and opened his own firm in Millville . He actively practiced until the dawn of the new Millennium .

David is survived by his former wife , Deborah ; his children : Adam and wife , Eva , Diane , Christy and fiancé , TJ , and Daniel ; his grandchildren : Cristobal , Tye , Kingston , Ronan , Airabella , Serafina and Valentina ; his siblings : Frank , Edward and Linda ; his nieces and nephews , Frank Jr ., Jill , Jennifer , Brian , Kevin , Stephen and Helena .

Family and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on July 5 , 2016 , at St . Mary of Mt . Carmel Parish - St . Joseph Roman Catholic Church , Third and French streets , Hammonton , NJ . Interment followed immediately after mass at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery , 124 S . First Road , Hammonton , NJ .

SWIM , from Page 1 looking for new families and have started a number of new activities for our members this year ,” Fusco said .

Some of the new activities include Mommy and Me swim classes , craft days , lap swim sessions for adults and even a weekly movie night . The Mommy and Me swim classes are offered to children under four years old and will be held Monday and Wednesday from 10 a . m . to 12 p . m . and Tuesday and Thursday from 11 a . m . to 12 p . m . Movie night will take place every Wednesday evening until 10 p . m .

“ I am thinking of new ideas we can do at the pool all the time . Last year , we had a water balloon fight out on the basketball court . People really enjoy activities like that for the kids ,” Mazza said .

Both the large and baby pool are now fully heated and filled with salt water .

“ No chlorine means no chemicals to worry about . People don ’ t have to worry about their bathing suits fading or their hair dye changing colors . It ’ s all natural water ,” Fusco said .

Recently , there have been talks between swim club management and a number of private investors about possibly installing a dome over the pool area . The heated dome would allow the club to operate year-round while also offering local swim teams somewhere to practice during the winter months .

“ We have already talked to a number of swim teams who would be interested in using the club during the winter . A lot of local teams have to travel all the way to places like Mays Landing or Ocean City to practice . Hammonton is much closer for them , and since we ’ re directly between Philly and Atlantic City , it ’ s the perfect location … We currently have somewhere around 80 families . The investor wants to see our membership climb to 120 before we really move forward with the dome . Luckily for us , if we merge with another team , that will add 80-plus families alone ,” Mazza said .

An added positive of installing a dome over the water is the possibility that both Hammonton and St . Joseph High School would be able to reinstate their swim programs .

“ It can be tough to recruit kids for our youth program without having swim teams at the high schools . Having this dome would give us the chance to reach out to the schools about letting their teams compete over at the swim club ,” Fusco said .

Being a member of a community swim club is a great way to interact and spend time with people from town . If there ’ s one thing that stands out here in Hammonton , it ’ s the value that joining the club offers .

“ For basically six dollars a day , you can enjoy yourself from noon to 8 p . m . at the club . People can host parties at the pavilion and anyone who is a member can bring a guest for just five dollars a day . We offer a 30-day trial for people interested in joining for just $ 199 . The club is completely smoke-free and safe for everyone ,” Fusco said .

Mildred C . Perna

Mildred C . Perna ( nee Masi ), 92 , of Hammonton , died peacefully on Saturday , July 2 , 2016 , at the Heritage Assisted Living Facility , after a brief illness .

Born in Hammonton , she was a lifelong resident there . She was a retired production line worker for Whitehall Laboratories of Hammonton . Mrs . Perna worked for Whitehall from the time they opened their doors until her retirement 32 years later . She was dedicated to her church and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need . Mrs . Perna loved doing things for and with her family ; they were her pride and joy .

She was predeceased by her parents , Antonio and Rose Masi ; her husband , Ralph T . Perna ; her brothers , Nick , Albert and Fred Masi and her sisters , Marie Masi and Caroline Angello . Mrs . Perna is survived by her son , Ralph A . Perna Sr . and his wife , Patti of Hammonton ; her daughter , Joy Ann Spangler and her husband , Milton of Cumming , Ga .; two brothers , Alfred Masi of Elm and Anthony Masi of Philadelphia , Pa .; her grandchildren and their spouses , Ralph A . and Rose Ann Perna , Amy and Thomas DeLaurentis , Milton C . and Wendy Spangler III , Susan and Brad Griffis , Jason and Ashlee Spangler ; six great-grandsons , Nick Perna , Frank Perna , Anthony Perna , Thomas Alan DeLaurentis , Jeremy Griffis and Justin Griffis , and many nieces and nephews .

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday , July 7 , 2016 , at 10 a . m . in St . Mary of Mt . Carmel Parish , Church of St . Joseph ’ s , 226 French St ., Hammonton . Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery . Viewings will be held on Wednesday , 7 p . m . – 9 p . m ., and again on Thursday , 8:30 a . m . – 9:30 a . m ., at the Carnesale Funeral Home , 202 S . Third St ., Hammonton .
