The Front Bottoms - Tour Diaries Sept-Oct 2013 | Page 5

Monday 16th September – Glasgow, Scotland (King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut) “The next show was at King Tuts in Glasgow. I think it's collectively one of our favorite venues and cities to play when we are overseas. Lovers Turn To Monsters opened the show, really awesome band and great people. Allison Weiss had her band name changed to 'Happy Birthday Dad!' The show was a ton of fun. And we saw some CRAZY AWESOME tattoos.” – Mat The show at King Tut’s was great, as usual. A friend of the guys from Jersey, Becka, who was working in Ireland decided to fly over for the show and hang out. She was all of the fun and very easy to get on with. We had managed to score a place to stay just outside Glasgow with Kimi, a girl who had come to the show had offered us floor space. Her parents were away for a few days so it would be no problem. Perfect. We hung out, mixed Buckfast with WKD blue and ate Doritos and Maltesers. Adam told us his most embarrassing tour story and Brian trod in dog poop in the garden because he and I ignored Kimi’s warning not to go onto the decking. We drank a little more before falling asleep. Tuesday 17th September – Leeds, UK (Brudenell Social Club) We awoke super early, said our goodbyes to Kimi and packed the van and set off to Liverpool. We’d only made it around the corner before another driver flashed Adam, looking in his mirror he noticed a sleeping bag bouncing down the road. The back door of the van had come open. Pulling over Adam established that we had only lost a pair of Jeans and a couple of sleeping backs, but he turned round and retrieved them none the less. About an hour or so later I heard Adam and Mat talking quietly, I asked if everything was alright to which Adam replied “yeah, chilling, I think we lost the bass head when the van door was open but don’t tell anyone until I’ve sorted it”. I didn’t say anything, and continued reading Game of Thrones. For the next half hour or so Adam frantically tried to get hold of Kimi whilst looking up how much that particular head (which belonged to his housemate Ruddock) would cost, and mentally spending all the money he had to his name in the process. Luckily he managed to get hold of Kimi who took a walk down the road and found said head chilling at the side of the road. She went to the post office and sent it special delivery, saving us a lot of hassle. Absolute legend.
