Sunday 15th September – Sheffield, UK (Corporation)
Adam and I got up around 10. We had to make various stops around Pontefract to pick up the
backline we would be using for the tour. Adam’s band, Above Them, were lending their entire kit to
us. Our first stop was Tom and Sophie’s to pick up the drum kick. Tom and Sophie have the most
adorable daughter, Betty, and I was so excited to finally meet her. She was badass. Next stop was
Oli’s house to grab the guitar and bass cabs, then Asda to grab some stuff for breakfast. Adam made
beans on toast for everyone.
After breakfast we loaded the van and made our way to Sheffield for the first show. We were about
15 minutes away from Adam’s house before it was realised that we’d left the bass head at the
house, so back we went. Never mind, we had plenty of time to get to The Corporation.
We were in the small room of a large club venue, the floors were sticky and the large room smelt like
last night’s bad decisions. Cracked plastic pint glasses littered the place and a stench of stale beer
filled my lungs. I w
