The Front Bottoms - Tour Diaries Sept-Oct 2013 | Page 6
After an eventful journey we arrived at Brudenell Social Club, the guys set up and soundcheck whilst
I caught up on the third to last episode of Breaking Bad. We all followed Breaking Bad, but Allison
was waiting to watch the final episodes when she got home with her girlfriend, Adam wasn’t that up
to date, so we all watched the episode separately
over the course of the evening on Ciaran’s laptop.
The show was great. I spent the evening hanging
out on merch drinking and selling T-shirts, which
was my job. Good job. Kate, Jade and Jade who
we’d met at Groezrock earlier that year were
there too, and they are a blast to hang out with. It
is always so nice to see familiar faces at shows.
This was the first night Allison joined The Front
Bottoms to sing Au Revoir (Adios). She’d covered
the song on her bandcamp a few weeks before
tour, so it seemed fitting that live she perform it
with the band. It sounded great. After show we all
headed back to Pontefract for the last time this
tour.
“Leeds was a great night, we got to see a bunch of
old friends. On our way back after the show we
drove past two foxes fighting in the streets, probably
the best thing I've got to see on tour yet.” - Mat
Wednesday 18th September – Liverpool, UK (Korova)
“Liverpool, this was also another new city for us to play.
The show was at the Korova, which had closed down
earlier this year and reopened in a new location. Our show
was the first at the new venue. Thus far this has been our
best UK tour." - Mat
I slept in. The band got up and went to Weatherspoons
via the Haribo factory in Pontefract. When I woke up we
made beans on toast before setting off to Liverpool. The
journey was uneventful and we found the venue
without too much trouble. I especially liked the poster
for tonight’s show.
Our show was the first in this version of the venue.
Korova had been a famous Liverpool venue for years
