A couple who owned a converted barn wanted to put in a modern kitchen but couldn’t bear to just scrap their oak one, so the whole thing was dismantled and refitted for Jonathan and Sally. On a visit to B&Q they had to park round the back in order to pick their bulky insulation, when they noticed a load of floor tiles that had been wrongly packed so were in a skip! So they offered some cash for the B&Q Christmas do and hey presto, all the floor tiles for the farmhouse were sorted! Jonathan is justifiably proud that he has been able to build the farmhouse for the same price as a back to back in Hebden Bridge! Sally and Jonathan have also joined with members of the local community to establish a small not for profit Farm Shop next door which is open 10am– 2pm on Saturdays. The Great Rock Co-op is named after a local natural landmark and offers fresh, locally produced food and goods. It supports small, local producers and is a co-operative run by consumers, volunteers and the local producers.
