When agriculture finally found
its feet after the ravages of
F&M, he was able to pick up
from where he left off, this
time servicing and selling all
makes of feeders and even
helping to design and market
his own tub feeder, the
“Bainbridge Feedall”, as well
as taking on the dealership
in the North for the RS AgriMix Feeder. As well as all
this he started looking after
local racehorse stables, codesigning the gallop master
and maintaining the treadmills
and horse walkers. He even
does fabrication work on
steam engines.
Today, Bainbridge
Engineering is busier than
ever.
I asked Cyril his secret to
his success and there was
no hesitation in his reply.
“To listen to what the
customers want and be
able to adapt to their
needs and designs
operating a permanent ‘can
do’ approach,” he said.
“Everything that goes out
of here has to be RIGHT.
If a machine breaks down
or isn’t right, your name is
mud and you only get one
chance.
“We like to keep everything
in-house boasting a good
stock of up-to-date machinery
(lathes, radial arm drilling
machines, cutters, plasmas
etc) so we do all our own
design, rolling, cutting ,
fabrication and finishing.
“We offer a comprehensive
service specialising in the
refurbishment of feeders,
either sending out reline
plates to customers or
relining the feeder in the
workshop, providing the
equivalent of a courtesy car,
a replacement feeder so
the customer is not out of
action. We can also supply
most parts for feeders, from
chains, bearings to blades.”
