Tom and John decided to put up a complete new building and install a rotary milking parlour. They spent a year researching this major investment, visiting farms across the country. Millfoss were extremely helpful and in Tom and John’s opinion, had the best equipment for the new venture. This was a big change for the Dodgson’s - not least having to go 400 metres to work every day rather than 30 feet! The original farm buildings are still in full use for rearing new calves and bulls for market. They also have up to 300 head being reared on other sites ranging from 4 months to two years and also manage their own 168 acres of grassland. As you come over the brow of the hill, the new building looks most impressive. It now houses one of the most modern dairy operations in the area. Completing the future pla
