When the texture paste is dry it’s time to paint! We have used Rusty Patina - Rustique, by Imagination Crafts – (available on our website). However, you can use any acrylic paint instead. If you are using acrylic paint add some sand or something with a little texture. Base paint with a dark brown and then dry brush in places with black for a more rustic and aged look. Next we used Rusty Patina – Duck Egg and Verdigris in small amounts around the studs and the embellishments. If you don’t have these products you can use similar colours in acrylic to achieve a similar effect. Once you have dabbed your paints on, we added a spray of water to get the run effect. Lastly, once everything is dry, we have used a metallic gold wax to highlight all the top edges All the paints, textures, and adhesives you’ll need are available on our web site - hobbilicious.com
