RAZOR SHARP
Ultimate Frsibee is a very unique sport and has many qualities that are not found in other sports.
It is self refereed and the players make all of the calls on the field. Also, this sport is non-contact and strongly promotes good sportsmanship. Sportsmanship is so important that coaches can even take players off the fielf for having bad sportsmanship toward other people, whether that person is on the same team, the other team, or just a spectator.
Ultimate is also a very intense sport, although it never appears to be so.
Training is very rigorous and includes many drills that work on agility to make your reflexes and actions faster and more precise. These include zigzag sprints while you have to try and defend someone without lagging behind or running backwards. The training also includes how to throw the disc certain ways in certain situations.
The basic throws include the backhand and the forehand, also known as the flick because you have to flick your wrist to thow the disc. There are other fancy throws, such as hammer, scoobers, push-passes, high release, and low release.
The fancy throws are much more complicated than the basic two, but can be very useful, especially the hammer, which, if thrown properly, can travel the
entire field while flying high over all the players' heads.
SPIRIT OF THE GAME
Sprit of the Game is how Ultimate is based. It promotes teamwork and sportsmanship. If there is an argument on the field, then the players are to work it out politely, without insulting or being rude to anyones else.
