CATOOSA , Okla . – What started as an album intended to help fund what Alanis Morissette really wanted to do with a follow-up album , Jagged Little Pill catapulted an almost unknown Canadian girl straight

into stardom in 1995 . It can still be heard in restaurants and department stores over 20 years later and proves that if you really feel the emotions of your music you can get the attention you want .
But since then , Morissette has recovered quite nicely ( presumably from her break-up with comedian Dave Coulier ), and moved on to a very fulfilling life , albeit not one as exciting as the year that six songs from Jagged overtook airways and awards worldwide . While many of her later releases were not as top-selling as Jagged , many were critically acclaimed , used in movie soundtracks and she ’ s played herself as well as God in a few movie roles (“ Dogma ” is a really funny movie and had plenty of TV cameos as well ).
What might be a bigger boon for local Alanis fans is her decision to play two shows at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino this month . She ’ ll grace us with her presence on March 13 and 15 , offering an evening cocktail of new mixed with old . Many songs you ’ re sure to recognize , having never known she penned and sung it , too . She even took time from her busy yoga teaching schedule just to come here .
As with all shows at The Joint , it ’ s sure to be an up-front and personal evening of great music . For the record , the March 15 show is sold out , but tickets are still available for March 13 .
