TULSA , Okla . – Everyone knows the Philbrook Art Museum is one of Oklahoma ’ s most interesting landmarks , but it has also become a part of how Tulsans celebrate the holidays . If you have been thinking about making the pilgrimage to see one of the state ’ s most impressive collections of fine art , this holiday season is a great time to visit .

“ One of the things that people love most about the Philbrook is how we celebrate the holidays ,” said Jeff Martin , communications manager for the Philbrook . “ We are now open every Friday night , 52 times a year , until 9 p . m . Specifically

during festival , we are going to use that as an excuse to turn on the lights and do some fun things .”

On Festival Nights , visitors are invited to explore the Italian Renaissance-inspired villa and formal gardens as they

are transformed by tens of thousands of Christmas lights . There will be hot cocoa , a cash bar , live performances and more . Everything is open until 9 p . m . on Dec . 1 , 8 , 15 , 22 & 29 , and on Christmas Eve .

On Dec . 8 , Festival Night includes a Holiday House Party starting at 6 PM with live entertainment and prizes for the ugliest sweater . Festival Nights will conclude with ‘ Silent Night ,’ for some end-of-the-holidays quiet time with relaxing activities such as yoga , massages and something called a silent disco .
