“Downtown Forest”

By Amy Addams
OKLAHOMA CITY – A new piece of nature has been
unveiled in downtown Oklahoma City by Oklahoma’s
own Jack Fowler. It’s art, but “Downtown Forest”
on the side of the Oklahoma Tower, stands in silent
vigil; whether it is lamenting history or it’s just beautiful
art, we don’t know. It is sublime. Nature’s quiet is
standing not in judgement, but as overseer in a bustling
downtown. Through subtle color schemes and shading,
this 6,000-foot mural may not stop passersby, but it
reminds us that we are temporary and nature will be
back for what is hers. Eventually. See more of Jack’s
works on ovac-ok.org.
