TULSA , Okla . - Chris Blevins is an exciting new talent in the thriving Tulsa music scene . His debut album Better Than Alone is available now through Horton Records .
Blevins recently played live at the Woody Guthrie Center with Wink Burcham in the cozy and intimate WGC Theater .
Blevins says he enjoys playing with Burcham .
“ He and I have been playing an increased volume of shows together . That ’ s very good for my selfesteem having someone willing to play with me that I look up to so much .”

Another inspiration for Blevins becoming a music professional is John Fullbright . When Blevins saw Fullbright ’ s national level success he was inspired to redouble his efforts and improve his craft . They ’ ve since become friends and Fullbright plays a significant role on Blevin ’ s new album .
Other players on the album include keyboard whiz Corey Mauser , and multi-instrumental talent Chris Foster . Also contributing is perhaps Tulsa ’ s finest rhythm section , bassist Aaron Boehler and drummer Andrew Bones .
Another musical contributor is Jason Weinheimer , who also owns the music studio where the album

was recorded . That ’ s Fellowship Hall sound in Little Rock , Ark . Fellowship has become a home away from home for many Tulsa musicians . Besides Blevins , Tulsa area musicians that have worked Fellowship Hall include John Moreland , Paul Benjaman , Jesse Aycock , John Calvin Abney and Jacob Tovar .
Blevins elaborated on his recording experience at Fellowship : “ Jason at Fellowship has an incredible ear for recording and one of the most expansive hardware setups that I ’ ve ever seen . He ’ s calm and supportive without ever being pushy .”
Also playing as well as serving as the producer of the record is Tulsa based guitar and lap steel virtuoso Chris Combs .
“ Combs was the guiding force of the whole thing . He prompted me to move forward and his ear and vision for the arrangements really made a cohesive product . All the way around , I couldn ’ t ask for a more soulful group of guys for those tunes .”
