because on November 4 the Will
Rogers Birthday Party takes place
on Main St. in Claremore. This year
celebrates Rogers’ 138th birthday
and festivities will be happening
throughout the day.

of Claremore, through Oologah,
then to the Claremore Lake area.”
Registration for the event can
be found at BikeAbout Bicycles
during normal business hours, or
the morning of the October 7. The
event will go on rain or shine and
all ages are encouraged to attend.
Riders under the age of 16 must be
accompanied by an adult who will
also partake in the event.
On Saturday October 7, in
downtown Claremore, beginning
at the Gazebo Park (located
off Muskogee Ave. and Will
Rogers Blvd.) bicycle enthusiasts
may partake in the Dickens
of a Ride all-day event. From
downtownclaremore.org: “The
Dickens of a Ride supports
the programs and projects of
Claremore Main Street, Inc.
Proceeds from the event will help
fund preservation efforts, economic
development and special projects
including planters, trees, benches
and public art.”
The event is set to kick-off at 8
a.m. and provides a variety of
bike routes and courses for a
wide range of skill-sets, ages, and
competitiveness. The course layouts
vary from “the Lazy Lake Loop” (7
miles) to the more extensive 100
Beginning at 9 a.m. the Route 66
Cruisers Car Show kicks off at the
Will Rogers Memorial Museum. At
10 a.m. the 20th Annual Native
American Festival at RSU begins,
as well as Main Street Shopping
Specials, and the Traditional
Pocahontas Club Wreath Laying.
Then at 11 a.m. the Will Rogers

Just outside the city limits of
Claremore you can catch free
live music at the Cherokee
