'Prefects will not only contribute to the school, but also the wider community'.
For 2 weeks, Mr Comrie has been going through around 100 application forms, and deciding which 40 students would go through to interviews. From those forty, he and Mr. Ojja will shortlist the 15 students, who will receive a new tie and badge, representing their roles in the school. In order for them to decide on which students are the best suited for the role, they will use specific guidelines: reliability, honesty, trustworthyness, excellent attendance, outstanding behaviour records, and potential. They must also be determined and put 100% into this honourable role. By the end of the year, we shall know the results.
Recently, Mr.Comrie, the assistant vice principal, opened up a new opportunity, where students get a chance to express their points of view in the way our school operates. The new post that was announced was school prefects.
School prefects will help run the school, by making decisions, managing behaviour, look at teaching and learning, go to trips, organise events, conduct assemblies and ultimately, help to shape the school. This will help develop their leadership, communication, management and organisation skills. As well as this, they will not only contribute to the school, but also the wider community.
