Fall activities for the whole family are plentiful

Coshocton County is the place to be if you are looking for fun fall and Halloween activities for your family . Many of these are inexpensive or free ways to enjoy the fall leaves and spend time with your family . Visit each organization ’ s Facebook page or website for details about pricing and hours .
Scarecrow Town is back . Residents , organizations and businesses will once again put their creative efforts on display in the hopes of winning your vote . Scarecrows can be placed along the Clary Gardens walking trail for free . All registered scarecrows will be listed on a map so you can easily find your favorites and vote . Winners will be revealed Saturday , Oct . 28 . Details can be found at www . clarygardens . org / blog . php .
McPeek ’ s Mighty Maze will be open Oct . 7 , 14 , 21 and 28 from 1-9 p . m . ( last admission at 8 p . m .). Each day will be like a mini festival with the corn maze , wagon rides , pumpkins , corn box , food trucks and live music . The maze in located on County Road 10 . Attendees are invited to try the maze by flashlight .
Schumaker Farms is holding Harvest Days every weekend through Oct . 29 from 11 a . m . to 4 p . m . A full day of fun can be found that includes hayrides to the pumpkin patch , a straw maze , a mini corn maze for kids , a bounce pad , a petting zoo , a kids zip line , Frisbee golf , hamster wheels , a tire playground , a huge slide , a corn bin and more .
Slater Family Farm Outreach will have an open house on Saturday , Oct . 14 from 1-5 p . m . Rust Décor will have ceramics to purchase from 1-3 p . m ., and hot dogs will be served from 3-5 p . m . Come meet the animals , walk the story book trail

and decorate a pumpkin . They will take donations to build an accessible parking lot and barn so everyone will be able to enjoy the farm . The farm is located at 17421 Township Road 278 , off state Route 83 South in Coshocton .

1:45 p . m . A safely filtered telescope will be available near the ramp entrance of the library to view the moment when the moon eclipses the sun .
ASK Autism will have its annual trunk and treat on Sunday , Oct . 15 at 2 p . m . at Hopewell School . While anyone is welcome , this event is especially for families with a special needs member ( child or adult ). Everyone is invited to decorate their trunk , dress up and pass out treats . There will be a Fall Festival at the West Lafayette Branch Library on Thursday , Oct . 19 from 5:30-6:30 p . m . Children age 0-12 and teens in seventh grade through 12th grade are invited . There will be games , snacks and pumpkin decorating . Register at www . coshoctonlibrary . org .
Our Town Coshocton will host a Craft Brew Oktoberfest on Friday , Oct . 20 .
The 52nd annual Apple Butter Stirrin ’ Festival will be Oct . 20-22 in Roscoe Village . The festival will include homemade apple butter , live music , free crafts for kids , more than 100 craft and food vendors , History of the Canal Town , Spirit Tours and more .
Coshocton County ’ s Fall Foliage and Farm Tour will be Oct . 21 from 10 a . m . to 5 p . m . and Oct . 22 from noon to 5 p . m . This is a free , family-friendly event . Participants can pick up a map at River View Community Park and will learn about agriculture while viewing the fall colors . The tour stops are unknown until Oct . 21 .
Murder Ridge - The Crimes of Cletus Reese will be presented at the Coshocton Public Library on Oct . 23 from 6:30-7:30 p . m . Historian Mark Sebastian Jordan will present on the story on this infamous Coshocton native . Register at www . coshoctonlibrary . org .
Clary Gardens will have its Trail and Treat event on Wednesday , Oct . 25 from 4:30-5:30 p . m . Children are invited to wear costumes and trick-or-treat along the Scarecrow Trail . The cost is $ 1 per person .

The Coshocton County Board of DD ’ s Halloween Party will be Thursday , Oct . 26 from 6-8 p . m . at Hopewell School . This dance is for any adult with disabilities , and everyone is encouraged to dress up . If you need one-on-one staff , you will need to provide that . Light refreshments will be served .
Frankenstein ! Myth , Monster and Popular Culture will be presented at the Coshocton Public Library on Saturday , Oct . 28 from 1-2 p . m . Adults are invited to learn about Mary Shelley ’ s classic novel and the monster that launched the science fiction and horror genres . Register at www . coshoctonlibrary . org .
The Scarecrow Shuffle 5k will be Saturday , Oct . 28 and will benefit Our Town Coshocton . For more information visit the Scarecrow Shuffle Facebook page .
The West Lafayette Chamber of Commerce Halloween Party will be Saturday , Oct . 28 from 2-4 p . m . at the Ridgewood Middle School gym . The West Lafayette Police Department is providing pumpkins . More activities in the village that day include a pancake breakfast , bazaar , witches walk and a dance party from 7-9 p . m . at the EPICenter .
There will be a Fall Festival at Clary Gardens on Saturday , Oct . 28 . This also is sponsored by the Fatherhood Initiative . The festival will be from noon to 3 p . m ., and there will be light refreshments available . The Fatherhood Initiative will hide rocks throughout the gardens , and those rocks will earn prizes for those who find them .
Horrifying History of Coshocton will be presented Tuesday , Oct . 31 from 5:45-6:45 p . m . at the Oak Ridge Cemetery on North Sixth Street . Explore the horrific side of Coshocton history at the oldest graveyard on Halloween night . Register at www . coshoctonlibrary . org .
