Wiley Companies sponsors conference for teachers
Wiley Companies , a member of the Ohio Chemistry Technology Council , announced its sponsorship for the Teachers , Industry & Environment Conference , which took place Oct . 18-20 at the Embassy Suites Columbus Airport . This annual event , which brought together educators , industry professionals and the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency , was dedicated to inspiring and equipping Ohio ’ s science educators in third through eighth grade .
The TIE Conference offered an experience designed to highlight the value and impact of chemistry and science and to empower educators with resources and tools . The event is free for attendees , thanks to support from those engaged in chemistry research and the chemical manufacturing industry .
The TIE Conference was attended by 59 teachers .
Wiley Companies also contributed by sponsoring tote bags for attendees .

Red Cross needs volunteers
There is currently a need for new volunteers in the community to be blood donor ambassadors for the Red Cross .
Volunteers will help support local blood drives by greeting blood donors , registering , answering questions , providing information and supporting people through the recovery process at the refreshments table . All training will be provided at times that are convenient to you .

Isleta UMC plans fundraiser
Isleta UMC will hold its 15th annual Christmas Cookie & Candy Sale in the church basement on Saturday , Dec . 9 from 8-11 a . m .
There will be hundreds of holiday cookies and candies to choose from , and attendees can make up their own assortment of favorites . The price is $ 8 per pound .
