RVHS Art Club decorated windows at McDonald ’ s

McDonald ’ s windows were taken over by River View High School Art Club on Nov . 15 when they used their skills to help get people in the holiday spirit .
Sophomores Catherine Sibert , Paris Peterson and Amelia Wilson brought a McDonald ’ s character from the past to life on one of the windows in the children ’ s play area at the restaurant .
“ We are painting Mayor McCheese ,” Peterson said . “ I thought he was cool , and I liked his colors .”
Sibert enjoyed working on their Christmas version of McCheese .
“ I like being here and seeing people ’ s reactions ,” she said . “ This gets the Art Club more noticed too . We aren ’ t as recognized at school .”
Wilson said it was nice to see their work appreciated .

“ I have paint everywhere , even on my pants ,” she said . “ I hope our work makes people happy and gets them thinking about Christmas and taking time to get together .”

Sophomore Shyla Ferguson created a snowman on the window next to Dickerson ’ s work of art .
“ Art brings out my personality ,” she said .

“ My goal this year is to build up Art Club ,” he said . “ This project gets us out in the public and gets the kids involved in the community . They all came up with their own ideas . We have a pretty creative group .”
Alexis Zimmerman , one of the managers at McDonald ’ s , said they were glad to have the students work on their windows .
“ I think it ’ s awesome that we are able to have them here ,” she said . “ It ’ s a way for us to give back to the school and them to show off their artistic ability and have fun .”
To help get people in the holiday spirit , McDonald ’ s also is collecting toys for the Firefighters Toy Chest . Toys , stuffed animals and board games can be dropped off in the drop box at McDonald ’ s or at the front counter . They must be new and unwrapped . Donations will be taken until Saturday , Dec . 9 .

Christmas Palooza to benefit the animal shelter

All Paws on Deck Grooming will host Christmas Palooza on Sunday , Dec . 3 from noon to 4 p . m . This event is open to the public and is by donation only . All donations will be given to the Coshocton County Animal Shelter .
The whole family and pets are invited to the party . There will be family and pet pictures with Santa , cookies from Santa , kids activities and crafts , reindeer food , and a snowman canvas painting .
The snowman canvas painting will be led by Christie Kitzmann . The cost for that is $ 45 with part of the money donated to the animal shelter . You must preregister for this class by visiting All Paws on Deck Grooming ’ s Facebook page or by calling 740-227-0105 .
Haley Vickers and the staff at All Paws on Deck are excited to have an event that is open to the families
in the community .
“ All proceeds from this event will go directly to the Coshocton County Animal Shelter to help them through the winter . The shelter does so much , not only for our community , but for surrounding communities as well . They are truly incredible people with the biggest hearts and the hardest jobs ,” Vickers said .
