Meet Fralin from Leadership Coshocton County
LaTasha Fralin was born in Columbus and lived there until she entered foster care at the age of 11 . She moved to Newcomerstown with her foster family and

LaTasha Fralin attended Newcomerstown Middle School . Her family then moved to Coshocton , and she attended Coshocton High School and the Coshocton County Career Center , where she was in the culinary arts program . She graduated from both in 2010 , moved into her own apartment and began looking for work to support herself and pay bills .
Her first job was with Ravens Glenn in West Lafayette . She worked in nearly every position at the winery and restaurant , starting as a dishwasher ; moving to food prep , waitress and bartender ; and helped to make the wine .
Fralin then went to work for Burger King and is taking on more leadership roles there . When asked what she does , Fralin said , “ I do everything .”
As team lead she runs the kitchen , prepares food , and works at both the front counter and in the drivethru , where she sometimes wears a headset to take orders and relay information to the kitchen .
She is the right hand of the manager , assisting with transitions during shift changes , ensuring her fellow employees are up to speed with what is happening in the restaurant and covering a variety of roles within the restaurant so the needs of the customers are met .
Fralin said , “ I know all the different jobs . I like to learn everything so I ’ m a better asset to the company .”
Her manager is currently looking into getting Fralin trained to be a breakfast coordinator , which will include being the opening store manager .
Outside of work Fralin is busy with Special Olympics and several advocacy groups . The Hopewell Indians Special Olympics basketball team just wrapped up its season while softball will begin in the spring . She also is a member of Raise Your Voice self-advocacy group , is on the Coshocton County Board of Developmental Disabilities Human

Fralin decided to participate in Leadership Coshocton County to better herself with skills so she can help others with a disability be better .
“ I want to be a better leader for myself and be a better advocate . I ’ m eager to learn and be a better person overall ,” she said .
She also is learning from the Positive Leadership curriculum . “ The curriculum helps a lot . I use it at Burger King and see the benefit . I also share what I ’ m learning with my fellow employees , and it helps them to be better . I ’ m also sharing it at Raise Your Voice meetings too ,” she said .
Fralin views the community as busy . “ I especially

To make Coshocton County stronger , Fralin stressed the need to have stronger leaders . “ We need to have people with more leadership skills in all areas . You can start as a young child to build the characteristics of a leader . It starts with the school systems ,” she said .
Fralin would recommend Leadership Coshocton County for others . She said a lot of people can benefit from learning the tools taught in the program . “ It ’ s a benefit for yourself and for everyone ,” she said .
