Pregnancy Center of Coshocton seeks new director

The pregnancy center offers pregnancy tests , parenting and life skills classes , diapers , new and gently used baby clothes ( through 2T ), cribs , maternity clothes , and other baby supplies .
In 1990 the Pregnancy Distress Center was opened in Coshocton . It has since been renamed The Pregnancy Center of Coshocton . Amy Miletti has been serving as the executive director since May 2022 , but the search is now on for a new one .
“ This amazing 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) organization has served women and girls to alleviate the pressures and concerns during pregnancy and beyond by providing diapers , clothes , cribs and other baby supplies . Additionally , bringing a child into this world can be frightening and overwhelming , especially if a woman lacks a robust social support system . It is our pleasure to build relationships with our clients to encourage them , support them and be a warm place to discuss complex matters relating to pregnancy , parenting and relationships ,” Miletti said .
The pregnancy center offers pregnancy tests , parenting and life skills classes , diapers , new and gently used baby clothes ( through 2T ), cribs , maternity clothes , and other baby supplies . Everything is donated to the center .
“ We are fully funded by the generosity of like-minded community members , local churches and private grants ,” Miletti said . “ An unplanned pregnancy can be a shock , so we offer a confidential and nonjudgmental environment to discuss information about options .”
Miletti said they serve clients from all walks of life , and as a faith-based organization , they also offer prayer and spiritual support for those who are comfortable with that .
“ The classes we offer are extensive and cover areas of pregnancy , parenting , relationships , trauma , mental health , finances and more ,” she said . “ When our clients complete classes , they earn points that can be redeemed for baby items .”
Miletti said the pregnancy center is averaging 15 client visits a month this year . Last year they had a total of 171 visits representing 57 individual clients . These clients received 198 packs of diapers , 46 bags of baby clothes , and viewed 269 parenting and

“ We expect these numbers to increase in 2024 as we have just added office hours on the first and third Tuesday evenings beginning in May ,” she said .
Some clients are not pregnant but just need help with diapers and clothing for their child .
“ We have also served families welcoming babies into their homes in kinship care or foster care ,” Miletti said . “ Sometimes these situations happen quickly , and families do not have adequate time to pull together resources for the new addition .”

The new executive director must be passionate about the center ’ s mission and vision and be committed to a consistent , lifeaffirming philosophy .
“ This individual will serve under the supervision of the PCC ’ s board of directors to provide leadership for all PCC services and volunteers ,” Miletti said .

There is a definite spiritual component to working in this field . You know that in your own strength , things do not feel possible . It is a challenge of faith to wait and see what God is going to do in a client ’ s life or within the organization as a whole . PCC ’ s board of directors has been a pleasure to work with and so have the volunteers . To be involved with the Pregnancy Center of Coshocton is to be welcomed into a community .”

Calvary Baptist Church held a Steep and Chic event on April 27 for the ladies of the church and their friends . The ladies were encouraged to dress fancy and enjoyed a light lunch and tea together . The fellowship hall was decorated , and china and cloth napkins were used to make the lunch even more special . Prizes for best dressed were provided , as well as small jars of honey as party favors . Alyssa Brown shared a devotional .
