Fiesta Hair & Tanning will hold its annual Cut-A-Thon June 4. The telethon raises money for the Children’ s Miracle Network, and the more than 300 salons across five states will be participating.“ Our salon has been No. 1 each year for the past five years that we have participated in the telethon,” said Phyllis Corder, manager for the Fiesta Salon located in the Downtowner Plaza. The charity event sees $ 5 dollar haircuts offered.“ We will also hold a garage and bake sale and will welcome donations. We will also be raffling off many handmade craft items made by our customers. The help of our customers is what makes the event a success,” Corder said. There will be two live bands that will play over the course of the event: the Midnight Riders and the Neon Moon.

A new tradition may be starting in Coshocton as the second RibFest will soon be held at the Himebaugh Lot. The event is sponsored by Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and seeks to unite the community in fellowship and raise funds to repair the church building.“ We have been preparing all year, so we are not caught off guard,” said Rev. Cedric Anderson.“ I am looking forward to the people that come together to support this vision that our pastor( the Rev. Cliff Biggers) had of the lot being filled with people.” Angela Redman serves as the coordinator for the event.“ The church has always sold ribs, but it was always on such a small scale.” Deacon Richie King said“ We are raising money to mainly help repair the church, but we eventually want to have different types of involvement with the community such as an after-school program. If the roof isn’ t repaired though we won’ t have a church.”
