Ridgewood Local Schools Board awards contracts
The Ridgewood Local Schools Board of Education met in regular and special meetings on May 16 .
Commendations were given to the music and drama programs for its outstanding programs and concerts held recently and the vocational agriculture program for its outstanding performances this year in competitions at the state and national levels and its recently held banquet . Cooper King was recognized for winning the State of Ohio competition in electronics for two years in a row and will represent the State of Ohio at the National Competition in Washington D . C . in June . Sara and Lester Mc- Curdy , teachers at Ridgewood Middle and high school and administrators of the 21 st Century grant gave a presentation of the many after school programs that have been available to students . Ridgewood Local School District has been the recipient of the grant for
more than five years and it has benefited every student in the district .
Superintendent Mike Masloski reported on the following items that were approved by the board : Sarah Lindsey was hired as the Ridgewood High School Guidance Counselor ; resignations of Lisa Knicely , effective July 31 , and Kevin Lott , effective May 8 ; and Kevin Lott approved as a classified sub effective May 9 .
The following certified contracts were approved – one year granted to Aimee Brown , Caleb Tingle , Cassie Mladek , and Jane Buehler ; two year - Kyle Bethel and Shelly Larrison ; three-year contracts - Barb Bond , Carissa Dickerson , and Tyler McCullough ; and continuing contract to Lindsay Marquis .
The following classified contracts were awarded one year - Christie Cutlip , Kiersten Sheaffer , Annie Patterson , Ken Brown , and Christy Nelson ; two year - Felicia Hunter , Elaine Haines , James Kirker , Susie Blackstone , Peggy Dubois , Britney Cunningham , Diana Brickles , and Dan Kinsey ; continuing contract to Samantha Krocker ; summer tech worker Ian McCurdy effective May 20 at 30 hours / week ; summer worker Cale Roberts , summer pay $ 12 / hr . effective May 1 ; and Wendy Croy approved for extended school year teacher four weeks / three hours a week June 1 to July 31 , per diem rate .
