Elks lodge holds annual youth banquet
The Benevolent and
Protective Order of Elks Grand Lodge has decreed the first week in May as Youth Week . In complying to the grand lodge ’ s decree , Coshocton Lodge # 376 had its annual youth banquet on May 7 . Awards and trophies were presented to hoop shoot winners in first and second place , Americanism Essay winners , and Teen of the Month recipients from Coshocton and River View high schools .
The hoop shoot winner for 8- to 9-year-olds was
Alexandria Miller for girls and Corbin Smith for boys , and the runner-up boy was Kenlee Aronhalt . The winner for 10- to 11-yearolds was Cadence Watson for girls , and the runner-up was Morgan Thomas . The boys winner was Dalontae Snell , and the runner-up was Tyson Smith . The winner for the 12- to 13-yearolds was Mattie Thomas for girls , and the boys winner was Cruz Potts . Runnersup were Kali Martin and Will Snider .
The topic for the Americanism Essay Contest was “ What the Bill of Rights means to me .” The eighth-grade winners were all from Mr . Hart ’ s class at River View Junior High . They are Bryden Urban , McRayla Ford and Ethan McCombs . Sixth-grade winner Alya McCoy is in Mrs . Baker ’ s class at River View Intermediate School . Mrs . Lowe ’ s sixth-grade class at Coshocton Elementary also had two winners : Issabella Aquila and Lana Lawson .
Teen of the Month recipients from Coshocton High School were John Stamper , September ; Isabelle Lauvray , October ; Addison Rice , November ; Taylor Brown , December ; Laken Tucker , January ; Owen Walters , February ; and Monet Frye , March . Lauvray was named Coshocton ’ s Teen of the Year .
River View High School Teen of the Month recipients were Emma Prouty , September ; Brianna Karr , October ; Aliah Williamson , November ; Hollee Sheneman , December ; Camden Albertson , January ; Maliya Williams , February ; Mack Wilson , March ; and Brittany Henderson , April . Williams was the Teen of the Year .
