The Fellowship of Christian Athletes has planned a Faith on the Field to be held at Newcomerstown High School’ s stadium on Sunday, June 29 from 9-10 a. m. If it rains, the event will be moved into the high school gymnasium.
Nick Johnson from FCA said,“ Part of the vision God gave us when we started serving in Coshocton was to bring unity to the Coshocton area. As often as we can, we try to create environments where students from different sports, schools and churches have the opportunity to fellowship, worship and serve together. Out of this heart, Faith on the Field was born.”
Johnson said they have partnered with local pastors

McClure thanks the Fortunes

In reading the many accolades to Mark and Nancy Fortune, I feel obligated to share some thoughts about
BF-311821 to start an annual event in which the students lead a worship service held in a football stadium. The service is held at a different school each year.
Faith on the Field will look similar to a traditional church service.
“ The main difference is that the leadership roles in the service will be led by our student leaders or recent alumni. We will have a time of worship music, student testimonies and a message that will also be brought by one of our students,” Johnson said.
People from many different churches and even those who don’ t regularly attend church are expected to attend. The service will end by 10 a. m. before it gets too hot.
FCA has been in Coshocton for about 10 years.
“ Our mission is to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and his church. We have weekly meetings in each of the area schools, we work with chaplains on area sports teams, and host many other events and activities throughout the year to serve our students and
their commitment to the Coshocton County Fair.

schools,” Johnson said.“ I believe FCA is important in our communities because our schools are full of students and staff who are hurting and searching for meaning, purpose and love in their lives.
“ We believe that all of these things are best found in a relationship with Jesus and other believers. In the schools our ministry is student-led, and we strive to engage, equip and empower our young people to take ownership of their faith and lead their own peers to a relationship with Jesus.”

of the preparation and printing of the fair book to the wonderful coverage of all activities on the grounds during fair week, it was truly a pleasure to work with them during my tenure on the fair board.
Thank you, sincerely, Mark and Nancy. Enjoy your well-deserved retirement.
