MVNU unveils new look for SonFest 2025 festival

Knox Foodies, LLC, in partnership with Road Hog Willy’ s Real Pit Bar-B-Q, announce the return of Blues, Brews, and BBQ in downtown Mount Vernon. Saturday, June 28, from 11 a. m. to 6 p. m., will be a day full of great food, great music, and great fun.

Mount Vernon Nazarene University announced updates are in store for SonFest 2025, MVNU’ s one-day Christian music festival. Scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 20, SonFest will now be held in the newly renovated R. R. Hodges Chapel / Auditorium, making it a rain-or-shine event for the first time.
The 2025 lineup will feature worship, alternative rock and faithdriven performances, headlined by ELEVA- TION RHYTHM. Also taking the stage are acclaimed artists John Mark McMillan, Citizens and Rock City Worship, with more artists to be announced. ELEVATION RHYTHM is the youth expression of Elevation Church of Charlotte,
North Carolina. John Mark McMillan, a platinum-selling songwriter, brings lyrical depth to the stage. Citizens, based in Seattle, rose to prominence with its 2011 debut. Rock City Worship, a musical ministry based in Columbus, combines praise and local impact. Tickets are on sale

General admission is
$ 40. Limited VIP admissions are available for $ 75 and include a meet and greet with artists and early entry. Group sales of 10-50 tickets or children age 4-10 are $ 25. Children age 3 and under are free but must sit on a lap.

The festival is perfect for families. Bluey and Bingo will be on hand for a meet and greet with the kids from 1:30-3:30 p. m. on West Vine Street. Local businesses and organizations will be on hand to showcase their products and resources, and arts & craft vendors be set up to showcase their unique works.

United Way of Coshocton has a new home

The United Way of Coshocton announced its recent move to a new office location. It is now operating out of the Coshocton Collaborative building at 538 Main St., Suite 305, in the heart of downtown Coshocton.
Being a part of the Coshocton Collaborative places United Way in a shared space with other organizations working
to strengthen Coshocton County. The new location provides improved accessibility, more collaboration opportunities, and a fresh environment for staff to engage with volunteers, partners and the community.
“ We’ re thrilled about this new space,” said Erin Slaughter, executive director.“ It not only supports our current operations, but reflects our ongoing commitment to building a stronger, more connected Coshocton. We invite you to visit us in our new location and continue supporting our mission to improve lives in the areas of health, education and financial stability.”
Since 1940 the United Way of Coshocton has been a driving force for positive change in the community. It mobilizes resources, connects volunteers, and invests in local programs that uplift individuals and families throughout Coshocton County.
Any festival would be incomplete without great food. This event will highlight the delicious, flavor of slow smoked bar-b-cue favorites including ribs, wings, pork, and brisket Food lovers will have the opportunity to vote for the winners of our BBQ competition. Participating food trucks will battle for the coveted“ People’ s Choice” trophy. Trophies will be awarded for best ribs, best wings, best pork,
and best brisket. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public! This is a DORA event, please ensure that you remain within the DORA boundaries and drink responsibly. Anyone causing a disturbance, not following the DORA rules, or drinking irresponsibly will be removed from the event.
